Final inspection

Checklist for the final inspection of your home

The final inspection is an important time when selling your home. Its purpose is to check that the house has been left as agreed, including the removal of personal belongings and leaving the agreed movable items. In addition, meter readings are taken during the inspection and the operation of the central heating and kitchen appliances can be explained. Original warranty certificates and any construction drawings are also handed over to the buyer.

Final inspection of your home: movable items

When selling your home, did you agree with the buyer that certain movable items will be transferred to the buyer? Think for example of curtains, cupboards, kitchen equipment, garden furniture or garden tools. If so, list these items in a “List of Movable Property”, which is part of the purchase agreement.

Final inspection of your home: meter readings

During the final inspection, meter readings will also be recorded so that you as the seller can sign out from the utility companies and the buyer can sign in with the same meter readings from the suppliers of their choice. Broker1 will provide you with a form where you can record this information. It is advisable to have this form signed by both parties so that everything is handled clearly and correctly.
